How to Tell If He Is in Love with You

by | April 17, 2018

The only thing better than being in love is falling in love. Everything you do together feels new and exciting. And you have no idea who’s going to say it out loud first! But how can you be sure it’s mutual? Here are my 5 can’t-miss signs that your man is in love with you.

He is in love with you if:

1. He Wants to See You Frequently

Don’t make excuses for a guy who doesn’t want to see you more than once or twice a week.

The enthusiasm in his voice when he talks with you over the phone, the happiness in his eyes when he looks at you, and the fact that he wants to spend quality time with you are more than obvious signs that he is in love with you.

When I was a teenager, I remember that I couldn’t read the signs if a guy wanted to have a long-term relationship with me or if he was not ready to commit. As I go back to memory lane, now I see it more than clearly: whenever I was the one calling the shots and organizing all of our meetings, the guy was just not really that into me.

If you want to see if he is truly in love with you, wait for him to call. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t initiate anything, it simply implies that men are men for a reason: to court women and treat them with respect.

2. He Is Honest with You

It is very difficult to spot a liar, especially at the early stages of a relationship.

Trust is something built over time, but if you don’t trust that your partner is telling the truth, you are deliberately taking away his chance to prove his commitment and love to you.

Realize that everybody lies from time to time—especially at that stage of a relationship when we’re still trying to impress each other—but if he is truthful about the big things, that is a clear sign that he trusts you enough to confide in you and has no interest in lying.

3. He Accepts You for Who You Are

One of the pillars of a great relationship is acceptance of your partner’s true self. Click To Tweet

If your man accepts you with and without makeup, with and without fancy clothes, with and without a smile on your face, then you have found someone worthy of your love. Don’t change your appearance or personality for someone just because you have feelings for them.

If he loves you back, he will eventually come to his senses and realize that you can’t (and shouldn’t) try to impose your own beliefs or opinions on someone else.

4. He Loves Your Quirks

For one reason or another, men seem to find women the most attractive and cute when we’ve just got out of bed with our messy hair and sleepy eyes.

If your partner knows those little things you do (like curling up in a ball when you’re sad or cleaning the house when you’re grumpy), he is a keeper. This means he acknowledges every part of you and appreciates you for exactly who you are.

5. He Declares His Love for You to the World

If a guy is open to telling others about your relationship and wants you to meet his friends and family, that is a clear sign that he is madly in love with you.

When he calls you ‘my girlfriend’ or ‘my better half’, you can see how proud he is to have you by his side. Take a look at the way he talks about you when you are with other people. If he belittles or ridicules you, that is a sign he is either not mature enough, or that probably is not that into you.

His attitude when you’re out with other people is as important as his behavior when you are alone.
